Our history
Phil Whitehouse started PragmaTech in August 2020, driven by the belief that there was a more pragmatic approach to delivering digital products and services. His first hand experience coupled with a technology-agnostic outlook helps our clients to cut through the noise and make quicker, better decisions.
About the Founder
Phil has worked across multiple sectors at a strategic level, including Travel, Health, Finance, Government, Sport, Media, Telecommunications and more. His technology experience sits across the entire digital ecosystem, including CMSs, Productivity Suites, CRM systems, Mobile app development, Cloud services, and AI driven software development.
Key highlights of Phil’s career (LinkedIn):
- Founded the Sydney arm of AKQA (known as DT at the time) - a full-service, 100 person digital agency covering Strategy, User Experience Design, Content, Data, Mobile and more.
- Led the digital transformation of Qantas.com, involving 80 people for 2.5 years, stretching across web, data, personalisation and more, and eventually extending into loyalty, freight and trade.
- Led the Northern Region (NSW and QLD) for ARQ Group, supporting 200+ staff and providing Cloud, Data and Digital Experience services to a range of clients including Qantas, Rio Tinto and Foxtel.
- Co-Founder for Altai, a successful scale-up that’s gone through three rounds of funding and a global launch.
- Founder of The Antidote, a fully automated, Agentic SaaS platform (launching in Q4 2026)
How we work
The PragmaTech model is simple. Phil provides a wide range of strategic services himself directly, and with no overheads or management layers we can do that at about half the rate he was charged out at previously.
And when he needs support (e.g. for build), he calls on his extensive network who also operate in a low overhead manner. You can find out more on our services page.
